First of May

May Day holidays

We are already starting 27. April, when we celebrate the Day of the Struggle against the Occupier (see more about the history in connection with this day at the end of the article).

Have you ever really thought about what this holiday means? We are not celebrating the day of victory over the occupier, but the fight against him – which may mean that the fight and occupation is still going on … 🙂

And then, as if in a flash, come the first and second of May. May Day, Labor Day, which we celebrate by not working. And the second of May, when we take a break from Sunday.

T-shirts for the first of May

Many reasons can be found for a fun May Day t-shirt. But we are sure that you know them even more. But let’s have fun first with some ideas about the philosophy of Labor Day and different views on Labor Day, celebration and work 🙂

May Day in the system

May Day is a holiday of work, creation, creativity …

Some say it is a forced holiday by which the elite want to impose on ordinary mortals an even stronger attachment to hard work and suffering. They hint that this holiday is celebrated by people who are trapped in the system and feel good in their cage of daily commitments. That a person identifies with the belief that life is one suffering and that we have to pay for our lives by giving at least eight hours a day for low value to someone we probably don’t even know. to invest a third of our time “in the system”. They warn us that we must respect the system, otherwise it will exclude us, and outside the system life is not possible or at least not pleasant.

Maybe they are right.

But maybe we have the right to create on our own …

May Day for dreamers

Many people would definitely label the system as a dreamer if they looked for a label from the system …

Man is born to celebrate. Every second of your breathing, movement, feeling. Every creation of one’s own and others’. Every co-creation and every conclusion. Man is a being who understands his transience all his life and therefore has a series of moments within it, each of which seems eternal. And so it makes up the seemingly completely illusory meaning of its existence. He celebrates because he is. And it is because it celebrates.

Man is born to work. Work is creation. When you work, you shape your idea, thought, idea, or foreboding into something tangible, into a creation that acquires a temporary touch of eternity. Creation is everything we create in our 3D reality. Creation can be a physical product, say a chair or lunch … Both are tangible and both carry within them some relative permanence. As long as the chair is usable and we can sit safely on it, it is durable. Until we eat lunch, it’s permanent. He stays as long as he is. And he lives a little even after he is gone – his influence is felt as an echo or a memory. After its usefulness has ceased, the chair can be transformed into decorative sticks or used to light a fire in the fireplace. Lunch gives us energy and (temporarily) changes our overall well-being. It integrates into our reality and becomes a part of us.

All we humans do is create with an apparent or relative component of eternity. They seem to last longer than a moment, so they give meaning to our goal-oriented life. It seems to us that when our life has a meaning or purpose, it is worth living. When we have no goals or can’t create, we are sad, design , and form a sense of worthlessness.

Work is creation.

May Day thus celebrates human creation. Collaborate with nature in terms of exploring what else can be done. What substances can we transform with our alchemical skills into something pleasant, fun, useful, seemingly permanent, and above all, temporarily ours?

What can we do for other people with our thoughts and words that will make us happy and make a piece of our life meaningful at the same time?

How can we co-create with pleasure and enthusiasm, how can we find people who also want to create in society?

Work means creating in 3D reality. Transforming thoughts into words (or plans), creating tangible changes (services and products) and, of course, the pleasure of enjoying the fruits of your labor. We can work according to instructions (because the privilege of life has to pay a price in the form of renunciation) or because something drives us to create. In any case, within the system, work is usually valued (and thus also taxed or devalued). But this is not real creation. And it’s certainly not real co-creation.

The higher purpose is co-creation.

Co-creation involves work, that is, bringing a certain amount of energy into shaping a change in physical reality. However, it differs from the classic work in that it is more about enjoyment and checking what is still possible, and less about creating (added) value than paying for bare existence.

A person who is born has the right to live, breathe, develop, live, develop his feelings and explore the limits of his abilities. Man is born to co-create.

Co-creation does not condition anything. And no condition leads to co-creation. It is born simply out of a desire to explore while socializing with other researchers. What one can do, two can certainly do, and it’s even more fun if three people do it at the same time.

T-shirts and nostalgia

We don’t create t-shirts out of nostalgia. Although this can be a source of inspiration and a strong message.

T-shirts are a tool to express your inner feelings, which are born in an instant and last for one, two, three or more moments. When we try to capture a moment in a multitude of moments and make it eternal, it usually slips out of our hands. However, we can instantly change co-creation into something relatively permanent and seemingly permanent, which allows us to continue co-creating.

And this is where the exploration begins. What design do you have nostalgic thoughts? Which inscription on the T-shirt awakens in you a pleasant feeling and desire to celebrate? Not just on this day when you celebrate work by not working … What design makes you smile? What design will help you start a fun conversation? What lettering do you dare to wear for May Day?

You can order your ideas on t-shirts here . Well, of course also on the hoodie them and other products.

The Day of Resistance against the Occupier (sometimes only the Liberation Front Day or OF Day) is a national holiday celebrated in Slovenia on the 27th. April.

On the 26th. In April 1941, it was agreed in Ljubljana to establish an organization of resistance (members of the KPS called it the Anti – Imperialist Front), which after the German attack on the Soviet Union on 22. June 1941 renamed the Liberation Front of the Slovene Nation. OF was established the day before, 26. April 1941, in the house of the writer Josip Vidmar, where representatives of several political parties and cultural workers met. These were: Boris Kidrič, Boris Ziherl, Aleš Bebler (for KP), Josip Rus (for the left wing of the Falcons), Tone Fajfar (for the Christian Socialists), Ferdo Kozak, Franc Šturm and Josip Vidmar (for Slovenian cultural workers). The original name at the time of its founding was “Anti-Imperialist Front”. It was created ten days after the Yugoslav army signed the surrender in Belgrade, and more than 14 days after the occupation of Slovenia.
April 27, 1944 The Commission of the Provincial National Liberation Committee for the Slovenian Littoral orders 27. April is a national holiday and a public holiday (in addition to 1 and 9 May), and the day officially becomes a holiday when the Presidium of the People’s Assembly of Slovenia 23. In February 1948, he passed a law highlighting the founding day of the OF as the brightest and highest of all Slovenian days. It was celebrated until 1951, when, under pressure from the Serbs and with the support of Boris Kidrič, the People’s Assembly of the People’s Republic of Slovenia abolished it at a regular session – as the Slovene uprising was on the eve of the Serb uprising. Although 27. April 1952 was no longer a day off and was no longer mentioned, its abolition was not officially announced until 1958. In 1951, on the initiative of the Congress of the Liberation Front of the Slovene Nation, a new holiday was introduced on 22. July – The day of the uprising of the Slovene nation, when three members of the Šmarnogorska partisan group shot at a former gunman, thus starting the first organized partisan actions on Slovene soil. Officially, the Day of Resistance against the Occupier is renewed as a holiday in September 1968 at the initiative of Josip Vidmar, who says: “This is not the beginning of our struggle, the beginning of our struggle is April 27, the founding day of OF. We don’t own the championship that we were first with a rifle in hand. They were the first with a rifle in hand, but we were already politically organized at the time, ”he said.
Why it was chosen and preserved as a holiday day despite opposition from historians April 27 instead of April 26 it is not clear, one of the explanations is that no one wanted a holiday on the day Adolf Hitler visited Maribor (April 26, 1941).
